Props Of The Week

David Montgomery over 45.5 rushing yards (Texans at Colts)
Indianapolis has allowed the most yards in the league through two weeks and more than five yards per carry. Montgomery should see 15-plus carries in a favorable game script.

Dalton Schultz over 47.5 receiving yards (Texans at Colts)
The Colts pass defense is the worst in football, surrendering 335-plus yards per game through the air. Schultz exploded for 140 yards last week without Nico Collins.

Jared Goff under 261.5 passing yards (Jets at Lions)
The Jets have allowed only 142 passing yards per game. Even against a step-up in competition, doubling that total in one afternoon is a tall order.

Best Bets

Houston Texans -2.5 at Indianapolis
The Colts defense has been historically bad. C.J. Stroud has thrown for 300-plus yards in consecutive games and plays well in Indianapolis. Alec Pierce is on IR and the Colts secondary is already thin.
New Orleans Saints -3 vs. Las Vegas
The Raiders are on a back-to-back road trip and have beaten two of the league’s weaker teams. Kirk Cousins already has three interceptions. The Saints looked competitive against Detroit and won in Baltimore. Home opener after a short week for the visitor.
Jacksonville Jaguars -3 vs. New England
The Patriots have scored 13 and 10 points the last two weeks. Drake May has not looked like last year’s version. An important offensive lineman is out for the season and AJ Brown remains on IR. Jacksonville’s defense should create turnovers in the heat and humidity.
Pittsburgh Steelers +3.5 vs. Cincinnati
Pittsburgh has owned this matchup in recent years and covers 3.5 in all but one meeting over the last four seasons. The Steelers typically go 3-3 or better in the division. Cincinnati’s offensive line remains a problem.
Under 42.5, Steelers vs. Bengals
Both defenses are playing ahead of their offenses. Three of the four combined games these teams have played this season have gone under. Joey Porter Jr. is practicing and should help contain Ja’Marr Chase.

Thursday Night Football: Atlanta Falcons at Green Bay Packers

Thursday, Sept. 24, 8:15 p.m. ET, Prime Video
Lambeau Field. 50s, light wind.
Green Bay -4.5 to -5.5 | Atlanta +4.5 to +5.5 | Total 42.5-43.5.

Both teams have looked ordinary. Atlanta has not reached the red zone in two games and is starting Michael Penix Jr. after Cooper Rush’s struggles. Green Bay needed overtime to beat the Jets and is missing two starting offensive linemen, Jayden Reed, Josh Jacobs, and Micah Parsons. The Packers’ rush defense has been strong; Atlanta’s rush defense currently ranks first in the league.

The game should stay low-scoring. Green Bay’s offensive line issues and Atlanta’s inability to score points point to the under. The Falcons have enough talent to keep it close even if they do not win outright.
Pick: Under 43 and Falcons +5.5.
TNF props:
  • Tucker Kraft over 46.5 receiving yards and anytime touchdown
  • Bijan Robinson under 78.5 rushing yards
  • Kyle Pitts under 37.5 receiving yards
  • John FitzPatrick 20-plus receiving yards
  • Bijan Robinson over 39.5 receiving yards
  • Drake London over 22.5 longest reception.

Week 3 will test which 0-2 and 1-1 teams are real and which were products of soft early schedules. The sides and totals above lean on defensive mismatches, travel spots, and injuries that the market has not fully priced.
