Summer is winding down, redraft leagues are up and running, and we’re less than 2 weeks from the season’s start. While fantasy managers, like myself, are preparing for their drafts, injuries keep popping up from practically everywhere. The more injuries a team has, the less likely they are to make the playoffs. Here’s a look at some of my final team season-long bets for 2026 and which teams I’m taking to miss the playoffs in my NFL futures bets!
San Francisco 49ers to Miss Playoffs (+134)
I don’t know if it’s the substation or owner Jed York having his focus elsewhere, but I’m losing faith in the 49ers very fast. The WR core on this team is still a subject matter from the 2025 off-season now that they re-signed Deebo Samuel. Alongside him, it’s a fresh set of pass catchers minus Ricky Pearsall, who’s out for the year. They signed future Hall of Famer Mike Evans, who has his own injury history. Also added to this roster was WR Christian Kirk, who was already injured in training camp. Rookie wideout De’Zhaun Stribling has made headlines, and he’ll likely be getting volume early in the season.
Christian McCaffrey is the healthiest player on this offense, and he was still held back in training camp due to muscle tightness. It’s no wonder he’s being passed on in the first round of fantasy drafts. Should their top two veteran players go down, what’s next? George Kittle is slated to return in Week 1, but will he be able to play a full season? This could mean opportunities for sophomore TE Jake Tonges.
Making the playoffs last season gives them a much harder schedule. They are in Australia for Week 1 against their much stronger divisional opponent, the L.A. Rams. They play the Chiefs, Chargers, and Eagles in December. It might sound tempting to bet the under on their wins, but we don’t know the longevity of the team’s injuries. Since they’ll most likely be on the outside looking in, the safer play would be for them not to make the playoffs.
Hard Rock Bet has this NFL futures bet at +135. Something tells me this number will only drop, and it could very well become -$ sooner rather than later. If you really want to be gutsy with the Niners win totals, under 8.5 on DraftKings is +200 with under 9.5 at +120.
Washington Commanders to Finish 4th in the NFC East (+140)
I had high hopes for this team after QB Jayden Daniels won Rookie of the Year in 2024. However, there doesn’t seem to be much added growth in Landover since then. There was a lot of talk during last year’s off-season about Jacory Croskey-Merritt being the next great RB1, but that was not the case. Going into the 2026 season, the Commanders signed former Buccaneers RB Rachaad White. This could mean White is the new one and “Bill” Croskey-Merritt takes a step back, or they end up splitting carries.
Terry McLaurin is another year older and going into his age-30 season. He still hasn’t had that solid WR2 teammate, at least until now. Stefon Diggs may be two years older than Scary Terry, but two veteran wideouts with a young QB definitely sounds like it could be exciting to watch. Will it be enough for them to win many games?
It doesn’t help being in the NFC East where the divisional opponents appear much stronger on paper. The Eagles won the NFC East the last two seasons, but the Cowboys are not far behind. The Dallas offense is ready to pick up where they left off, and this time they made defensive improvements in this year’s draft.
Speaking of defense, that’s where I expect the Giants to make an impact. This defensive front got even stronger: Brian Burnes, Abdul Carter, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and now rookie Arvell Reese. In addition to this youthful bunch are veteran DTs D.J. Reader & Chauncey Golston. I have been a hater on this secondary for years, and even that’s looking better with CB Greg Newsome. The G Men also brought in LB Tremaine Edmunds.
Offensively, QB Jaxson Dart seems ready to go from last season’s injury, but will his pass catchers be? WR Malik Nabers is slowly returning from a torn ACL. HC John Harbaugh brought over TE Isaiah Likely with him from Baltimore. While it may not “complete” this offense, an experienced HC with some young blood could be what the Giants need. Regardless, they seem strong enough to sweep Washington.
Suffice to say, the Commanders are slacking in comparison to the rest of their division. Coming in last place seems to be a probable outcome. This NFL season-long prop is available exclusively on FanDuel at +140.

Green Bay Packers to Miss Playoffs (+122)
As a Lions fan, it feels good to read and write this NFL prop title. It’ll feel great if it hits! This team is in some trouble on both sides of the ball. Defensively, Micah Parsons will be sidelined until Week 6. Behind him, there’s not much in that Green Bay secondary.
Recently, Josh Jacobs was officially charged with two misdemeanors. His backup RB Marshawn Lloyd has only played one NFL game and hasn’t seen the field in nearly two years due to injury. Will he be able to take the lead role should Jacobs be suspended? I’m also skeptical of this receiving core.
Christian Watson & Jayden Reed have their own injury histories. Was it worth the Packers trading away healthy WRs like Romeo Doubs or Dontavyion Wicks? This could mean opportunities for sophomore receiver Matthew Golden. The Packers also recently signed TE Jonnu Smith. Sounds to me like Tucker Kraft won’t be ready for week one, which is unfortunate after his explosive start last season.
I expect this division to come down to the Bears or the Lions, likely to be decided on Thanksgiving. I can’t fully trust the league’s oldest team. Missing the playoffs can be found on DraftKings at +122.
