Running back receiving touchdown props have become one of the fastest-growing NFL futures markets. While fantasy football managers focus on rankings, sportsbooks offer unique opportunities to bet on elite pass-catching backs before the season begins.
Jahmyr Gibbs Receiving Touchdown Prop
If you’re drafting near the top of your fantasy football league this summer, there’s a good chance Jahmyr Gibbs is one of the first names coming off the board. The betting market seems to agree with fantasy managers, but I think there’s still value in one particular prop.
Jahmyr Gibbs Over 4.5 Receiving Touchdowns (+160)
With David Montgomery no longer sharing the backfield, Gibbs enters the season as the Detroit Lions clear RB1. Last year he hauled in five receiving touchdowns despite splitting opportunities, and now he’ll have every chance to improve on that total.
One thing I always consider when looking at receiving touchdown props is offensive philosophy. Jared Goff has consistently shown he’s willing to throw near the goal line, and offensive coordinator Drew Petzing inherits one of the league’s most explosive attacks. Compare that to other elite running backs whose quarterbacks are more likely to tuck the ball and run, and Gibbs immediately becomes even more attractive.
Five receiving touchdowns over a 17-game season doesn’t feel overly aggressive for one of the NFL’s premier dual-threat backs. At +160, I think the value is still there before the market begins adjusting closer to kickoff.
Bijan Robinson Receiving Touchdown Prop
I’ll admit it. I underestimated Bijan Robinson heading into last season. I won’t be making that mistake twice.
Bijan Robinson Over 3.5 Receiving Touchdowns (+100)
Few running backs possess Robinson’s combination of patience, vision, and receiving ability. Atlanta continues to feature him as one of the focal points of the offense, making this one of my favorite season-long player props.
What I like most isn’t just Robinson’s talent—it’s his usage. Modern NFL offenses love creating mismatches with running backs against linebackers, and Bijan is one of the league’s toughest covers in space. Three-and-a-half receiving touchdowns isn’t asking for a career year. It’s asking one of football’s best receiving backs to find the end zone four times over an entire season. If you’re already drafting Robinson as your RB1 in fantasy football, this prop feels like a natural complement.
Christian McCaffrey Receiving Touchdown Prop
This is the one that gave me the most pause. Not because Christian McCaffrey lacks talent. Because sportsbooks know exactly who Christian McCaffrey is.
Christian McCaffrey Over 4.5 Receiving Touchdowns (+115)
Even after everything he’s accomplished, McCaffrey somehow continues to get overlooked every offseason because people worry about injuries. When he’s healthy, though, few players are more dangerous catching passes out of the backfield.
San Francisco’s offense has evolved over the last few seasons, and injuries have forced different players into larger roles. That only creates more opportunities for McCaffrey to remain a featured option in both the running and passing game.
Last season he reminded everyone why he’s still one of the NFL’s elite offensive weapons, finishing with 17 total touchdowns, including seven through the air. Needing five receiving touchdowns this season feels well within reach.
