The Houston Texans completed rookie minicamp from May 7-9 at the Houston Methodist Training Center. While the event focused primarily on teaching and installation rather than competition, several rookies quickly made strong impressions on the coaching staff.
Kayden McDonald emerged as the biggest standout of the weekend. Coaches praised his effort level, physicality, and understanding of the defensive scheme. Head coach DeMeco Ryans repeatedly highlighted McDonald’s readiness and ability to command attention along the interior defensive line.
