The Kansas City Chiefs and Jacksonville Jaguars meet on Monday Night Football in what could be one of the most entertaining matchups of Week 5. The Chiefs enter as narrow 3.5-point road favorites, despite the Jaguars’ 3-1 start and home-field advantage.
Kansas City has regained rhythm offensively behind Patrick Mahomes, who threw for 270 yards and two scores last week. The return of rookie wideout Xavier Worthy adds much-needed explosiveness to the passing game. But Jacksonville’s defense—led by Foyesade Oluokun and Tyson Campbell—is quietly one of the NFL’s most complete units, particularly against the run.
For Jacksonville, the key will be controlling the line of scrimmage and protecting Trevor Lawrence from Kansas City’s interior pressure spearheaded by Chris Jones. The Jaguars have shown they can win ugly, taking down San Francisco 26-21 last week thanks to a bruising ground game and timely defense.
