Philadelphia once again demonstrated why it remains one of the NFL’s best-run organizations. Trading up to draft Makai Lemon looks like a proactive move following the expected departure of A.J. Brown. Lemon entered the draft as one of college football’s most dynamic receivers and has the talent to make an immediate impact alongside DeVonta Smith.
The Philadelphia Eagles continued building around Jalen Hurts by selecting athletic tight end Eli Stowers in the second round. His arrival also provides long-term insurance should Dallas Goedert move on in the near future.
Markel Bell adds another intriguing developmental offensive tackle. Standing 6-foot-9, Bell possesses rare size and athletic traits that make him a logical successor to Lane Johnson whenever that transition eventually arrives.
Later selections such as Cole Payton and Micah Morris provide valuable depth while reinforcing Philadelphia’s commitment to continually developing the roster from within. Overall, the Eagles may not have produced the flashiest draft class, but they once again found value, addressed future needs, and strengthened one of the league’s deepest rosters.

NFL Rookie Minicamp Results
The Eagles held rookie minicamp from May 1-2 at the Jefferson Health Training Complex.
Makai Lemon immediately became the focal point after Philadelphia traded up in the first round to secure the former USC standout. He impressed during individual drills with polished route running and reliable hands before later missing mandatory minicamp with a minor hamstring injury.
Second-round tight end Eli Stowers showcased the athleticism that made him one of the draft’s most intriguing offensive weapons, while Markel Bell spent much of the weekend refining his footwork against speed rushers. Cole Payton benefited from receiving nearly every quarterback repetition during rookie camp, allowing him to gain valuable experience within Sean Mannion’s new offensive system.
International prospects Uar Bernard and Joshua Weru also began their development as part of the Eagles’ long-term defensive pipeline. The rookie class has now transitioned toward training camp, where several members of this draft class will compete for immediate playing time.
Philadelphia Eagles Updated 2026 Win Total Projection
The Eagles enter the 2026 season with a consensus win total projection of 10.5 victories. We’re taking the Under. That may seem surprising for one of the league’s perennial contenders, but there are legitimate reasons to believe Philadelphia could take a small step backward this season.
The first concern is the offense. Sean Mannion begins his first season as an NFL offensive coordinator, replacing one of the league’s more established play callers. Even talented offenses often experience growing pains when adapting to a new system, terminology, and play-calling philosophy. A slow start could prove costly over a 17-game season.
The offensive line also deserves attention. For years, Philadelphia has dominated games because of elite offensive line play. However, several cornerstone players—including Lane Johnson—are well into their 30s. Age, injuries, or even slight regression could impact both the passing game and the effectiveness of the Eagles’ rushing attack.
Defensively, there are still questions to answer. Vic Fangio remains one of football’s top defensive minds, but his unit must prove it can consistently contain explosive passing offenses over the course of an entire season. While offseason additions should help, consistency remains the biggest challenge.
The betting market also tells an interesting story. Although sportsbooks continue listing the Eagles at 10.5 wins, significant betting action has pushed the Under into favorite territory. That typically reflects respected bettors believing Philadelphia may not quite reach its lofty expectations.
The NFC East remains competitive, with the New York Giants expected to improve under John Harbaugh, creating even less margin for error inside the division.
The Eagles are still talented enough to make the playoffs and contend for another postseason run. But reaching 11 regular-season victories won’t be easy. Between a new offensive coordinator, an aging offensive line, and a challenging path through another competitive NFC season, we believe this team finishes closer to 10 wins than 11. That’s why we’re taking the Under 10.5 wins heading into the 2026 season.
