The Seahawks (5–2) head east to face the Commanders (3–5) in a Week 9 primetime matchup with clear playoff implications. Seattle arrives well-rested and in rhythm, leaning on a productive connection between Sam Darnold and Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who leads the NFL in receiving yards and was named NFC Offensive Player of the Month for October. Mike Macdonald’s defense has set the tone, holding every opponent but one to 20 points or fewer.
Washington’s week revolves around Jayden Daniels’ hamstring and the loss of Terry McLaurin (quad). Daniels practiced fully, and his return would boost a team trying to halt a three-game slide. The Commanders enter Week 9 in a skid, dropping three straight and fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive. Quarterback Jayden Daniels practiced fully this week after missing time with a hamstring NFL injury, and his return brings energy to an offense that has struggled under backup Marcus Mariota. “We only got one game against Seattle, so focus on that one,” Daniels said. “We got to go out here and try to get a win.”
Unfortunately, Washington will be without star wide receiver Terry McLaurin (quad), removing its top vertical threat just as the passing game regains its starter. Rookie running back Bill Croskey-Merritt will be asked to shoulder more of the workload against a Seattle defense surrendering only 75.7 rushing yards per game.
