Top 5 NFL Bets Based On Week 2 NFL Injury Report

“Check out these easy NFL bets to make based on the Week 2 NFL injury report and news from The Degen Doc.”

The Degen Doc is back with a new weekly series, Doc’s Injury Targets, breaking down the five biggest injury spots that create betting value. Last week’s edition hit thanks to the Saquon Barkley situation. This week, he is looking for more of the same. The DegenDoc’s take is simple: use the medical and game-script edges the market is still slow to price.

Top 5 NFL Bets Based On Week 2 NFL Injury Report

Alvin Kamara Over 11.5 Receiving Yards

The DegenDoc says Alvin Kamara is set to make his 2026 debut after a knee sprain and two full practices. He even had a shot to play in Week 1, but New Orleans held him out. The Saints targeted the running back heavily against Detroit—Travis Etienne saw a career-high nine targets (seven catches) and the backfield combined for 11 targets.

New Orleans is again a sizable underdog on the road in Baltimore, so the game script should force throws. The DegenDoc’s take is that Kamara takes a chunk of that third-down work from Etienne. He hit this number in seven of 11 games last season, and the 11.5 line is too low for a healthy Kamara who knows how to work in space. Over 2.5 receptions is a plus-money alternative he also likes.

Terry McLaurin Over 51.5 Receiving Yards

The DegenDoc is targeting an entire unit this week: the Dallas Cowboys’ back seven. DeMarvion Overshown (hamstring) and Malik Hooker (forearm fracture) are both out, and the secondary already looked leaky in Week 1.

The DegenDoc says Scary Terry is the cleanest way to attack it. McLaurin is coming off a quiet opener against Philadelphia’s corners and now draws a wounded Dallas secondary. Jayden Daniels and the Commanders’ passing game should get going in what the Doc expects to be a high-scoring NFC East game. His take is that 51.5 is a very low total for Washington’s WR1, and McLaurin should clear it with ease.

Jeremiyah Love Under 37.5 Rushing Yards

This one is a fade. The DegenDoc says Love is still working back from a high-ankle sprain—roughly week five of a typical four-to-six-week recovery to 100 percent. High ankles involve the syndesmosis between the tibia and fibula and take longer than a standard roll.

Love managed 11 carries for 41 yards in Week 1, and Arizona is clearly using a committee; Tyler Allgeier got 17 carries. Against a healthier Seattle front that has allowed just 3.5 yards per carry, plus a likely trailing game script, Love’s volume and efficiency both take a hit. The DegenDoc’s take is that 10 carries at Seattle’s average puts him right around 35 yards. Take the under.

Mark Andrews Over 42.5 Receiving Yards

The DegenDoc is looking for the teammate who picks up the slack. Zay Flowers re-aggravated a hamstring after a 150-yard first half and has not practiced the last two days. Re-injury to an already damaged muscle is usually worse, and hamstring strains carry a high re-injury risk this early in the season.

The DegenDoc fully expects Flowers to sit. With rookie Ja’Kobi Lane also out after wrist surgery, Lamar Jackson’s most reliable option over the middle is Mark Andrews. New Orleans will load the box to stop the run, leaving Andrews as the safety valve. He had 49 yards last week, and Sam LaPorta posted 48 against the same Saints defense. The DegenDoc’s take is over 42.5 receiving yards.

Jalen McMillan Over 23.5 Receiving Yards

The DegenDoc closes with a guy a lot of people forgot. Jalen McMillan missed Week 1 with a knee injury but has fully practiced Wednesday and Thursday and is expected to play. When healthy in 2024 he was a favorite Baker Mayfield target (nearly 500 yards and eight touchdowns in 13 games).

Cleveland is a bad defense that just allowed three Jaguars receivers to go over 40 yards and four receiving touchdowns. Tyson Campbell was a late injury-report addition with an ankle. The DegenDoc says the number is only 23.5 because people have forgotten McMillan; he views him as the second-best receiver in Tampa Bay’s room behind Emeka Egbuka. Sprinkle the +350 anytime touchdown as well.
